The Michigan Open
PINBALL TOURNAMENT

Would you like to have some fun playing Pinball?  Would you like to take home cash prizes?  Would you like to earn points towards the World Pinball Player Championship?  

The Michigan Open will be held June 20th, 2009 10:30 AM to 9 PM at

REGISTRATION:  You can Register for the tournament 1 of 2 ways.
  • At the door - just show up on June 20th and sign up!
  • Pre-register, send an e-mail to michiganpinball@yahoo.com with your full name and which division you are entering.  Pre-registration entitles you to ONE FREE entry into your division!
MORE INFORMATION:
  • There will be four divisions.
    • A - for expert players.
    • B - for Novice and Intermediate players ONLY.  Experts may NOT enter this division (see official rules).
    • Youth - for players 13 years of age and under.
    • EM - Played on a EM (pre-computer) machine. 
  • The format will be qualifying and finals.
    • Qualifying will run until 6 PM.
    • Finals will start at 7 PM.
    • Finals will be either top 4, 6, or top 8 qualifiers in each division depending upon the number of participants.
    • Finals rounds will be two player games on selected machines - best 2 out 3 advances.
  • Games to be used in the tournament.  Games may be added or substituted - see official rules.
    • Lord of the Rings.
    • The Simpsons Pinball Party.
    • Funhouse.
    • Pirates of the Carribean.
    • Family Guy.
    • Stern NBA.
    • El Dorado (1975).
  • WPPR (World Pinball Player Rankings) will be awarded for A Division and EM Division.
  • Entry Fees.  Note - all tournament games will be set to free play (no quarters required).
    • A Division - $5 per entry.  Each entry allows you to play 1 qualifying game on any 1 of the 4 qualifying machines.
    • B Division - $3 per entry.  Each entry allows you to play 1 qualifying game on any 1 of the 4 qualifying machines.
    • Youth Division  - $1 per entry.  Each entry allows you to play 1 qualifying game on the Youth machine.
    • EM Division - $2 per entry.  Each entry allows you to play 1 qualifying game on the EM machine.
  • Prizes will be paid out as follows:
    • A, B, Youth
      • 1st Place - 50% of prize pool for respective division.  First Place Trophy.
      • 2nd Place - 30% of prize pool for respective division and Trophy.
      • 3rd Place - 20% prize pool for  received for respective division and Trophy.
    • EM - Divsion
      • 1st Place - 50% of prize pool respective division.  First Place Trophy.
      • 2nd Place - 30% of prize pool for respective division and Trophy.
      • 3rd Place - 20% of prize pool for respective division and Trophy.
The winner of the A division will proclaimed the 2009 Michigan Open Pinball Champion.
